Privacy Policy

Welcome to HisLinks. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your data is handled securely. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account Information: When you register, we collect basic details such as your email address, date of birth (to verify age), and profile information.
  • User Content: Photos, messages, custom profile configurations, external links, and other content you upload.
  • Usage & Device Data: Information about how you interact with the app, your device type, and IP address to improve our service and prevent fraud.
  • Location Data: If you grant permission, we collect your location to match you with nearby users. You can revoke this at any time in your device settings.
  • Purchase and subscription data: If you subscribe to a paid plan, we store your plan tier, expiry date, and the store's transaction identifier in order to provide the corresponding member benefits. Payment itself is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play — we never receive or store your card or payment details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Provide matching services and facilitate communication between users.
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
  • Prevent and detect fraud, unauthorized activities, and violations of law.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We only share information:

  • With other users (your public profile and content).
  • With trusted service providers who assist us in operating the app (e.g., cloud hosting, AI service providers).
  • When required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

4. User Rights and Data Deletion

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can request account and data deletion directly within the HisLinks app via the account settings. Upon request, your account and associated data will be permanently deleted from our servers, subject to legal retention requirements.

5. Child Safety Policy

HisLinks is strictly for users 18 and older. We have a zero-tolerance policy against any form of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) or exploitation. Any such content will be immediately reported to the appropriate law enforcement authorities, and the offending account will be permanently banned.

6. Security

We implement strict security measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. However, no digital transmission is 100% secure, and we advise you to use a strong password and keep it confidential.

7. Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4), set up in a privacy-first way, to understand how our app and website are used so we can keep improving them. In short: we look at things like "which pages get opened the most" — never your orientation, preferences, or what you chat about.

  • We only collect anonymous statistics: for example screen/page views, feature usage, app version, device type, language, your general location, and non-identifying account characteristics such as your membership tier.
  • We identify a device only by a randomly generated, anonymous ID; we do not use advertising identifiers for analytics. (For advertising, see section 8.)
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • Analytics data is processed by Google as our analytics provider, and is never used for advertising or ad personalization.

8. Advertising

HisLinks uses Google AdMob to show rewarded ads — you can choose to watch an ad in exchange for stamina. Ads are optional; the app works fine without watching any.

  • Android: AdMob accesses the device's advertising ID (AAID). You can reset or delete it at any time in your system settings.
  • iOS: We do not request tracking permission, so AdMob cannot obtain your advertising identifier (IDFA).
  • We serve non-personalized ads only. Ads are never targeted using your profile, your messages, or your behaviour across other apps.
  • Advertising data is processed by Google under its advertising policies.

When you watch an ad for stamina, we pass your account identifier to AdMob solely to verify the reward server-side (to prevent the same reward being claimed repeatedly). No other personal data is included.

9. Recommendations

To make recommendations feel more like your taste, we look at some basic features in your public photos (such as the proportions of facial features), alongside your positive activity in the app (favourites, likes, follows), to work out who you might like.

These values are only used for recommendations inside HisLinks: this is not facial recognition, it is not used to recognise who you are, and it is never provided to any third party. Private photos are not included — only photos and profile pictures you have made public.

You can withdraw at any time: make a photo private or delete it and the related data goes with it; deleting your account removes all of it. Separately, if you have not used HisLinks for a year, we delete this data as well and stop using these features to recommend you to others — unless you come back.

If you upload a photo for an instant test, we analyse it on the spot and do not store it.

10. AI-assisted features

Some HisLinks features may use AI to draw useful matching insights from content you have made public, such as topics you are into, or things you and the other person might hit it off over.

Only content you have made public is included — private content, direct messages and anything else you have not made public never is. We send only the text itself, without attaching who wrote it, to an AI service provider we work with, under an agreement that it is not used to train AI models. Anything the AI produces is for reference only.

To opt out, delete that content or make it private, and it will no longer be included.
